Pigeons

Pigeons (Columbidae) are a family of mostly medium-sized, compactly built birds with a full, round chest and a small head. They have a fast, usually straight flight. Unlike other birds, they can suck up water with their beaks. The young pigeons are fed with pigeon milk from the crop . The male is called a doffer and the female is called a hen or simply a dove .

Material properties of Corten steel

Our metal birds are made of weather-resistant corten steel, this material will, over time, get a characteristic rust-brown color due to the oxide layer that forms. This oxide layer protects the underlying material all year round. This way, this metal dove will be protected for years. Just like all other corten steel decorations that we supply, this metal bird is supplied in ''blank'' metal.
