The Swiss Mountain Dog
The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog comes from Switzerland. It was originally used as a farm, guard and draught dog. Nowadays it is mainly known as a reliable family dog. Thanks to the Swiss geologist and cynologist Prof. Dr. Albert Heim (1849 - 1937) more and more attention was paid to dogs in Switzerland at the beginning of the 20th century. He was at the cradle of the 4 Mountain Dog breeds. In 1909 this breed was recognized and included in the Swiss Dog Studbook.
Material properties of Corten steel
Our metal animals are made of weather-resistant corten steel, this material will, over time, get a characteristic rust-brown color due to the oxide layer that forms.
